The New York state of mind is a way of life, braggadocio bravado seeping out of every oraface with the confidence of a sleazy politician. No wonder why we have so many anthems. Knicks vs Celtics round 1 NBA playoffs 2011 sounds like my state of mind, Stand up NY. Sincere’s 2011 Anthem to the city, pres play >HERE< . KNICKS.

It’s kind of ridiculous how huge of an influence the fusion jazz era of the 70’s has had on modern hip hop and pop music. Outright exploitation I tell ya. The even crazier part to this whole history of music is the originals sound far better than some of the exploits that have jacked them. With that said I offer to you “Jazzploitation”, a journey through the slavery of popular jazz fusion. Press play >HERE< . Peace.

R.I.P. Nate Dogg. It is kind of eerie how I just so happened to be revisiting Pac and his works and then the legendary Nate Dogg who was so influential to Pac’s sound during his Death Row days passes away. I was never a huge Pac fan but a good friend of mine who championed Pac’s life inspired me to give the brother a closer listen. The Maturation of 2Pac, play and download the mix <HERE>. Thug Life.

There is something deeply intense and passionate about Latin music that demands my attention whenever I hear it. Maybe it is the autonomous repetition of the drums with the unsuspecting improve that works its way throughout the track. Often times it is the visual display of 2 people in sync, perfectly off beat by just a hair to give the dance a unique feel that changes with every 2 heartbeats. I myself am no seducer of these movements but I was inspired by the sounds of classic Salsa tunes popping up all around me and decided to string together some classics. Oye Mi gente, play and download this classic HERE.
